Common QuestionsCommon Questions
We hope these questions and answers are helpful, however if you have any other queries please do not  hestitate to contact us.
Do you provide the children’s meals?
Please be aware, that due to allergies of both children and staff, we are a Nut-Free Nursery.

During term-time, we have snacks at around 11.00am and 3.00pm, which usually consists of bread squares and fresh or dried fruit, sliced vegetables or cheese. This varies day to day and takes account of the varied nutritional needs, allergies and intolerances any children may have. Feel free to bring in a snack for your child, in a named container.

Lunchtime is at midday, please provide your child with a packed lunch in a named lunchbox. If you wish, you can request a hot dinner, provided by the main school kitchens. This is available at an extra charge, currently £1.83 per meal. Please be aware that we book hot meals daily, and need to know by 9.30am if your child will need a meal that day. This is available during term-time only.
Water is available throughout the day.

At Breakfast Club, children are offered a choice of cereals, toast, fruit, milkshakes and water.
Water is available throughout the day.

At After School Club, children are offered water or fruit squash, and biscuits or fruit when they arrive from school. We also provide a light snack tea at around 5pm.
Water is available throughout the day.

During the Holiday Club, children are offered water or fruit squash and biscuits or fruit twice daily, at around 10.30am and 3pm, and a light snack tea at around 5pm. Please send your child with a named, packed lunch.
Water is available throughout the day.

You can ask any member of staff, or your child's keyperson about their day. Any important events or achievements will be shared with you.

If your child is attending After School Club, we will pass on any verbal messages from your child's school to you on your arrival.

What do I need to provide?
Please provide your child with suitable clothing for the weather, we spend lots of time outside, so a coat when it's cold and a hat when it's warm are essential.
The children also have open access to the water tray, so you may wish to send in a set of dry clothes for your child in case they get wet!
You may provide sun cream, but it must be labelled with your childs' name. Children can apply sun cream themselves under supervision.

If you would like to send your child with their own food, please ensure it is Nut-Free, as both children and staff can have dangerous allergic reactions if they come into contact with nuts or nut products. If your child is staying for lunch during Holiday Club, please provide them with a named, packed lunch. (For more information about the food and meals on offer at Nursery, please see the 'Do you provide the children's meals? section above)

If your child is in nappies or pull-ups, please send them in with enough 'changes' for the day. If your child is learning to use the toilet, please can they have spare clothes and underwear in case of accidents.

Please be aware that JHM (Holy Cross) Nursery Ltd does not accept responsibility for safeguarding any toys or equipment that your child brings to the setting.

If your child brings any playstation games or DVDs (during After School Club or Holiday Club), they must be a 3+ or 'U' certificate so they are age-appropriate for all the children that attend. Children under 3 do not use the playstation.

Will my child have a keyperson?
Each child is allocated two keypeople who will ensure that they are happy and occupied during their time with us.
Our Keyperson lists are displayed next to our classroom doors. New children will be given time to settle in before being allocated a key person, so we can be confident they will be happy in their group.
